BUSINESSES IN DOWNTOWN COLONIAL BEACH
COLONIAL BEACH IS A GREAT PLACE TO HAVE A BUSINESS
Colonial Beach has collectively been improving the business environment and an expansion of the number of businesses over the last few years. We have seen several businesses start — multiple restaurants, two breweries, an artist cooperative gallery, a community theater, two coffee shops, and a variety of other businesses. A number of these businesses have moved into the downtown area. Multiple downtown buildings have been bought and renovated for mixed-use zoning using the new historic renovation tax credits, and new living and retail spaces have started construction.
Washington Square, a new, upscale pavilion of takeout food options with tables and a bar will soon be developed on a currently empty lot on Washington Avenue. Colonial Beach Outfitters is moving onto Dennison Street, one of the key streets in our downtown. Beach Paws Boutique is a new startup business and Circa 1892 is a gourmet wine and cheese store being developed, both on Hawthorne Ave. Two new restaurants are moving into the Dodson development — The Muse Pizzeria and Arcade, and the Drift Seafood Bar. The Orchid Thai restaurant will open around New Year’s. The Pink Poodle ice cream shop will move into an old air-stream.
